Having A Baby? All About Maternity Motherhood and Pregnancy

Selecting Your Plus Size Maternity Work Clothes Wardrobe

Around the three or four month mark of your pregnancy you will want to buy some maternity clothes that are appropriate for wearing to work. Many women now work almost up until their baby is born and they want to look professional at work. When your clothes start to feel a little tight you should start thinking about purchasing maternity clothes.

You would be wise to purchase clothing that is proper for the season. Clothing that can be layered is always a good option. You can add or take off layers with the changing weather. This is a good way to stretch your budget and moderate your own changing body temperature.

Mixing and matching your work clothes is key. The plus size fashionista wants to look as good while she is pregnant as she did before, and why shouldn't she? Buy a few pairs of pants in neutral colors such as black, navy, gray, brown and tan. Buy a nice skirt such as an A-line skirt in a neutral shade, a jacket to go with a number of different outfits, a dress and an assortment of tops. Make sure your bottoms are all made from stretch soft fabrics that can breathe as easily as possible. Show some creativity with the shirts and tops you buy. Buy something with a splash of color for the warmer months, just make sure you can match it up with as many separates as possible.

When it is winter, wearing a sweater set that includes a long-sleeved cardigan worn over top of a V-neck or crew neck sweater in one color is a very attractive clothing choice for the office. Wear these with some fashionable black pants and a few accessories to spruce up the look and give it some panache.

Never forget the importance of accessories in helping to make a nice outfit look like an amazing outfit. Accessories such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hair clips, scarves, belts and the right purse can add the polish to an outfit for the plus size mother-to-be like nothing else can.

During pregnancy, shoes can really make a difference. Even in the early stages of pregnancy, your feet can ache painfully, so when you go shopping for shoes, try to remember this and choose wisely. Black is a great choice of color as it goes great with dresses, shirts and pants. You can choose either a closed pump or a sling-back. Other shoes that are acceptable to wear to work are ballerina flats. Remember that as your pregnancy progresses, your feet might swell, so make sure that the shoes you buy are wider than you usually wear.

Purchase work garments made of soft, breathable cloth. Stay away from hard to manage fasteners or zippers, as well as buttons or inseams that irritate your skin. Try to find stylish clothing that makes a statement without being too girly or childish.
